This hidden gem of a nature park is right in the northern suburbs of Orlando. There is a mile long boardwalk that takes you through wetlands, forest and finally along the lake. The boardwalk even has a 30 foot fishing spot, as well as an enclosed room out over the water where you can view the various wildlife & fish.
Its a place not far from the city and yet while there you feel so lost in the woods with a country side feel. Its good as a get away to come together with nature. Relaxing place.
My family lived near Lake Lotus and were frequent visitors. While it was not always open when we wanted to go (only open Thursday-Sunday), we were always happy with our visits. Lots to see, board walk along the lake. Playgrounds and restrooms, pavilion. Tables and benches. Nature trails and bike trails. Butterfly garden. Very peaceful and beautiful. There is a free tram to take you into the park as well. Extra parking across the street. Wish it was Open more days of the week though.
I walked around this park with my family and husband today. It was really hot outside but the shade felt nice in parts. We took the tram into the park and walked around the boardwalk. We spotted some snakes, turtles, birds, butterflies, and baby gators. We had a great time at the park. We will return when it is not... 更多
Lake Lotus does not really count as being in Altamonte Springs. It is a really beautiful park but really is not part of Altamonte Springs area.
Lake Lotus Park is a beautiful, hidden piece of nature in the middle of the greater Altamonte Springs area.
