We rented bikes and really enjoyed the Bob Jones trail, but earlier is better as it can get crowded as the day progresses. You can also walk the trail easily. There is a market right on the trail you can stop at half way for a meal or snack. For a longer trek you can take the trail to Avila... 更多
This is a very gentle almost six mile rt bike path, good for a compromised knee... you don't have to do the whole distance. It's a lovely amenity for this community, beautiful in spring wildflowers and birds on the creek. About half and half sun and shade, only 150 ft. Elevation gain. Goes by golf course and housing development, but... 更多
Very well maintained trail you can walk, run, bike or skate on. Personally I have done all of them. Not too crowded and the trail will take you all the way to Avila Beach main strip. There is a restaurant off the trail you can stop and eat at.
We visited the Bob Jones trail, riding Pedego electric bikes right from the town of Avila Beach. It was really pretty and great for bike riding. Lots of folks enjoying it while we were there. My husband, who is a bird watcher, saw some good warblers there too.
When the weather is right, we like to go and walk this trail to the park (about halfway to the beach) and let the kids play for a while. My boys will ride their bikes and my wife and I constantly nudge them into our "lane". Very pleasant place to walk, great for getting them to take a nice long... 更多
The path is relatively flat past homes, golf course, estuary, ending at Avila beach. It is about 4 miles round trip. There is a deli just 1/2 mile from the parking lot that looked great. Several choices for food or drink in Avila ... Or just to stare at the beach after s great walk or bike ride.
We were training for a bike race around lake Tahoe. We were in the SLO area and camped at Avila hot springs. The next morning we hopped on our bikes and hit the Bon Jones Trail. It's a great little paved trail! Plenty of smiling faces and friendly people exercising. We read somewhere that Avila Beach was the Happiest/Friendliest town,... 更多
We really enjoyed this walk with our kids (16 - 8 years old). The information we got said it was 1.5 miles but you need to add another mile to that if you park near the KOA. The Pelicans at the golf course were a highlight for us as we had never seen one before. Watching them swim and dive... 更多
