Visitor Center and parking is at 15th and W. House itself is up the Hill (and there are more than 50 steps to get up ther). There is a walkway around the side of the house, but we did not know about this at the time. There is a shop and a 17 minute film about Douglass' life and influence.... 更多

Greatly enjoyed our visit to the national historic site, which includes a visitors center and Frederick Douglass's home, Cedar Hill. There is no fee for the center or the home, but you can only visit the home on their tour. The house sits on a high hill with a commanding view of DC--impressive! The visitors center is nice, with a... 更多

We toured this home which was wonderful to see. The tour was with DC in Black which was also a great tour for all to see

Amazing house and amazing story. We did decided to visit places in DC that we had not seen yet. This is only a mile from our house but we never visited. Warning. it is in a less than desirable location. nice little museum at the bottom but not much to look at. there are a few artifacts here and the... 更多

This often overlooked site deserves more visitors. I came for the a Sunday morning tour with a family member. The introductory film was a bit dated but provided good history. The small museum had several interesting items, including one of Frederick Douglass' canes that was a gift from Abraham Lincoln. The main site is the house, which park rangers do... 更多

It's getting 5 stars because it is very worth a visit to learn more about the man, even all the way over in Anacostia. This is the last place of several that he lived and where he died. Wonderful view of DC and the opportunity to sit on the porch a spell. Maybe the site doesn't get as much love... 更多

AWESOME experience from history! Make a reservation for the tour, though. We drove an hour only to be told that the tours were full. Luckily, the tour guide waved us over out of pity. The museum and home tell the story beautifully. I enjoyed the movie of his life and the small museum, but really it was the house tour... 更多

I've always wanted to see this place and finally got a chance to make an online reservation to view the inside home. The grounds are free to walk around, but to see the inside home you will need to pay $1.50 in advance and it requires reservations 24 hrs before the visit. (http://www.nps.gov/frdo/planyourvisit/guidedtours.htm). Unfortunately, due to the high crime rate... 更多

As a resident of the Metro area I had never visited this site until this summer. Although I almost wasn't able to navigate the 85 steps to the front of the house, I'm glad I persevered. (Note to those for whom that many steps are a challenge: there is a paved path to the side of the house as an... 更多

This is one of DC's best kept secrets in terms of historical monuments. The house is a tribute to the amazing man and legacy of Douglass. The house sits atop a huge hill, so if anyone in your party has a handicapped placard, you can drive up the hill and park there. The ranger presentation in the house provides a... 更多
