The Yards Park is located along the bank of the Anacostia River stretching from 1st street (at National Park) to Isaac Hull Avenue (Commercial Navy Yard) and connecting to the River walk of the Navy Yard (Navy facility compound). The park was designed to host summer events and for relaxation for the Commercial Navy Yard visitors and locals. It is... 更多
I recently made my first visit to Yards park with my 11, 3 and 3 year old sons. Yards park is a big green space right on the Anacostia River in SE DC. I found parking in a big lot right across the street (quite inexpensive - I paid $6 for 3 hours and paid at a kiosk before leaving... 更多
Sure, Georgetown is great. But it's hard to get to, and those crowds? Yards Park is relatively calm and serene compared to DC's more popular waterfront areas. Friday nights are the best nights to go, there's almost something going on in the warmer months. Grab ice cream from Jubilee, a sandwich from Cornercopia or a bowl from Takorean and picnic... 更多
We visited for the first time (even though we're locals) and thought that it's a nice place to chill and hang out. They have a splash area for kids to run around in on a hot day and then there's the waterfront where you can take a picnic blanket and just hang out. Most of the restaurant selections are pricey... 更多
This latest edition to the revitalization of the DC waterfront is a winner. It opens a large stretch of the old Navy Yard to the public. The highlight is the broad boardwalk and attractive footbridges along the Anacostia River with views downriver to the Potomac. There are steps, benches and grass for relaxing. A wide, open area is available for... 更多
Not a bad spot for a picnic by the water and it is nice that there are some stores and restaurants there (even if they have zero personality).
What a gorgeous place! Come here at night and see the entire place lit up :D I was fortunate enough to come for the giant inflated bunny exhibition and was really impressed with the work and park. There was also a live DJ at the event.
If you want to eat some good food and have a chill atmosphere to go along try the Yards Park area. Good view, nice vibe and depending on when you go they have music and other cool events.
Love to walk the river walk every day. They have so many activities planned for the summer. It's a great place to go eat wonderful ice cream at Ice Cream Jubilee, chill before a Nats baseball game, and it's not too terribly far from the free Friday night Marine Corps Evening Parade at the barracks.
