Beautiful garden and home of the Peter family and Martha Custis Peter, granddaughter of Martha Washington. Tour this home filled with antiques many from George Washington. Walk among the other historic homes in the Georgetown neighborhood. Spring is a great time to see the huge Star Magnolia tree, and summer time is good to see the rose garden.
Georgetown is a great place to visit on a warm spring day. Take a walk among the old houses, grab something to eat and stroll by the canals and old neigborhoods. Wonderful place to spend a day.
We've been to DC before a few times but somehow always missed Georgetown. This time it was an absolute priority and so much so that we decided to take a walking tour. The guide was knowledgable and good and we thoroughly enjoyed our two hour walk. We got there ahead of time to give us an hour to walk around... 更多
Great historical part of Washington DC and like stepping back into an English Georgian high street. Excellent range of of shops and restaurant and all of the staff we encountered were so helpful and friendly - certainly a must when in DC ! We took the Metro and walked over from the University Hospital which was about 10 minutes.
Like so many other high rent shopping districts, the shops in Georgetown (mostly on M Street and Wisconsin) have changed from being mostly small business owners to chain stores such as J Crew and even a TJ Maxx. There are still a few of the privately owned places, such as the lovely Michael Getz Antiques on M Street and a... 更多
The architecture, homes, and walking tour are interesting, but the shopping in Georgetown is my favorite reason for spending a day or afternoon here. It's unique and a fun buzz. I always find something inspirational here; it's uplifting to see what's trendy, unusual, or considered "current" by artisans and retailers.
Shops from all possible brands housed in quaint buildings, lovely eateries serving all kinds of cuisines from French to Ethiopian, nice stroll down the streets, lots of bars and lounges and pubs--a fantastic place for hang out and one of my most favorite in DC.
I've been here a few times on business trips after work in the evening and there are some great places to visit. We did some shopping but there are so many upscale and eclectic places to shop we finally had to quit. The best pizza and beer is at Pizzaria Paradiso. It is an awesome place to have dinner and... 更多
I was in Georgetown about 20 years ago. I remember loving it and I remember independent stores selling charming gifts, housewares and books. I remember interesting and eclectic boutiques lining the charming streets. That's why I chose to stay in Georgetown for my family's recent spring break trip. Mine is a family of four with kids 9 and 12. They... 更多
Wow - never heard of Alex & Ani but what a wonderful collection they have. Needless to say, impressive! This was a group event that had been planned in advance. They were ready for us with drinks and tidbits of fruit and chocolate. Yummmm! Much shopping done and many happy shoppers!
My wife and I recently visited Foggy Bottom and took and evening stroll along the Main Street of Georgetown. It is a neat little spot with lots of trendy shops and interesting eateries. There is plenty of history here not the least of which is Kennedy history. There are quite a few guide books you can tap into in order... 更多
