It was a beautiful spring day to visit the zoo. Parking is $22 or ride the metro in but the Cleveland park stop is an easier walk than the uphill Woodley park stop. The zoo is on a hill so be prepared for a lot of walking and pushing strollers up an incline. We were way too ambitious thinking we... 更多
This is a great zoo and nice walk. The best thing about this zoo is the Panda Exhibit. There is a lot of educational stuff about the very mysterious animals. They are one of the few parks who have bred them in captivity and the baby was born at the National Zoo. Other animals are the usual animal exhibits-tigers, elephants,... 更多
The day I went the zoo was uncomfortably busy. It is well laid out and easy to see everything in a day. It was not as large I was hoping, but as no cost it is a good zoo to visit.
The Zoo is Free and has a big collection of unique animals that you cannot find in any other Zoo , like we got to see the Panda and the elephant and some unique collection of reptiles , they have the Zebra too and the Gorrila , and the animals are relativley close to the people not like other zoos... 更多
Main focus of trip was to visit the three pandas. I was impressed with the mountainous habitat for each panda. We were able see all the pandas in their courtyards and took photos. Saturday was very crowded with lots of families with strollers. The Asia Trail area also had red pandas, elephants, etc. Will come again on a weekday.
Either get the guaranteed parking ($22 at the time of my visit) or you can take the metro like we did. Took the Cleveland park stop when going to the zoo (there is a McDonald's at the Woodley Park stop) and passed a Chipotle on the way. We took the Woodley Park when leaving (as walking downhill did not matter).... 更多
Stay at the charming Wardman Marriott and take your morning hill run here. Admission is free, and you can run around without worrying about getting lost or in any kind of trouble. Come back after the animals are awake and watch pandas frolicking, gibbons hanging around, some overly-pampered big cats and more. It is a pretty good zoo by international... 更多
We were very disappointed in the National Zoo - I would recommend saving the extremely long & inconvenient parking wait plus $22 fee unless you're absolutely dead-set on seeing the Pandas. The animal housing viewing areas are very small. They make seeing the animals difficult and reduce mobility for everyone. Also disappointing was the lack of working water fountains -... 更多
Other reviewers (or maybe the metro sight itself) suggested that we start our day using the Cleveland park metro stop. Thank god for that as we found that every path throughout the zoo itself is up hill (both ways). This is a good zoo with much to see and do; several exhibits were closed during our visit though. Water and/or... 更多
