I am writing this review on behalf of my husband, who is a mountain biker. We did drive up into the park. It is beautiful. We spoke to the park attendant who gave my husband a trail map. My Husband went back the next day and spend several hours biking. He said it was great!
Don't miss Triple Falls and High Falls! If you park at Hooker Falls (also nice, but not as impressive), you can hike to Triple and High pretty easily on well-marked trails. Our older sons (13 and 10) actually really enjoyed this hike (and they usually complain about longer hikes). They loved walking out to the river and climbing along the... 更多
Dupont is kind of a one-trick pony, but what a trick it is. This is a small state forest with breathtaking waterfalls (at least in the spring [April] when we were there). I'm not an Easterner so I don't know if the NC waterfalls poop out later in the summer the way ours do in CO. If they don't, then... 更多
If you are in the Asheville area you must take a trip to the DuPont State Forest to see some wonderful waterfalls. The trails are well marked and you can plan your hike depending upon your ability. High Falls, Triple Falls and Hooker Falls are easy to get to and are worth the hike. If you have seen the Hunger... 更多
We really enjoyed hiking to triple falls and hooker falls. Both hikes are easily accessible from the parking area. Hooker falls is a flat short hike. Triple falls is a little longer and has a steep hill but our four and seven year olds managed fine. Beautiful spot!
Start at the visitor's center and they will give a map and guide you. The hiking is fairly easy, but there is some inclines and stairs. Bring a picnic and camera. No swimming allowed but waterfall sprays are refreshing
If you are in the Hendersonville area, don't miss this trip. The hiking trails are easy and are mostly covered in gravel which makes walking on them very easy indeed. The waterfalls are magnificent. They are all a short hike into the forest and well worth the time to do them.
Hiked to see High falls, Hooker Falls, and Triple Falls. Kids liked going to the base of the falls. It was neat to see where Hunger Games was filmed.
This is a beautiful forest full of waterfalls, hiking trails and mountain biking trails which are well marked! There is a visitors center available, with a friendly staff who can answer questions and provide you with maps. It's a beautiful place to spend a day just outside of Brevard, NC.
We had a great day visiting the area. We stayed in Brevard, and got up in the morning and drove the country roads to DuPont. If you enjoy nature, and scenic views this is the place. One tip is get up and get there! The place was empty early but was filling up by noon.
Right outside of Hendersonville NC is a unbelievable nature area. I lived within 1 1/2 hour drive of these falls for 25 years and camped all over Pisgah Forest but didn't know about these falls. I've been back twice over the past year and plan on taking the extended family there this summer. The trails are easy and wide with... 更多
Wanted to see some waterfalls and this place did not disappoint. My boyfriend and I took our two dogs and had a lovely time. The trails were well marked and everything was easily accessible. There were tons of people there for the middle of the day on a Tuesday, however, it is spring break. Picnic tables were all over. Great... 更多
We planned on visiting for a long time. After reading the reviews was very excited to go to this recreational forest. However, after arriving we could not access most of the forest. Most roads are closed. We could not find or locate staff to ask questions. Large gates block what appeared to be very good roads. We were planning on... 更多
Absolutely enjoyable! Wonderful hiking area with mixture of wide easy paths to moderate incline paths. Bikers will enjoy the park as well. Bring your own snacks, esp. if you have little ones as there are no shops for drinks etc. Bathrooms are available and clean. Waterfall views are amazing and several to choose from. The covered bridge is a nice... 更多
