Drove to see Dam and lake from Red Bluff hotel. Not too far and well worth seeing the lake. We visited the dam and the Visitor Center of the dam which has some interesting information on the building of the dam and of the area around it. Nice drive. Too hot to stay at lake when we went.
Weather your houseboats get, skiing/wakeboarding/tubing, floating or fishing, there's plenty of lake to do it in. Being I live here and spend a lot of summer days floating and boating on the lake it's always a good time.

Coverns were the best. About 2 hour trip. Need to walk down to the lake for 10 mins ( big steep) make sure u are wearing proper shoes. Then boat across lake shasta for 10 mins. Bus journey up the hill for 10 mins. 45 mins caverns tour.
