Get off the highway and take this drive. We went north to south but the drive would be just as nice in either direction. As you enter the area, stop at the turnouts and pick up a "driving tour". The tour is free and provides a lot of information on the forest and what you are seeing. Do be aware... 更多
30+ miles of driving through spectacular old growth Redwood forests - you can see the giants up close from your car, or get out and hike a bit in any of the major groves. There are plenty of places to stop and take pictures and stretch your legs. There are picnic spots available as well - lots of easy hiking... 更多
We loved out drive through the Avenue... A Beautiful wonder to behold. This was my first time here and I was so mesmerized by it all, I want to go again soon. Every was so clean and fresh... We enjoyed our afternoon so much that we came back through it the next day on our way home.
Spectacular, awe inspiring and uplifting experience to visit these ancient ones. I've always wanted to see these giants up close since poring over my mum's old National Geographic magazines. Nothing quite prepared me for the emotions and feelings they evoke. Just beautiful.
It's hard to describe how you will feel inside driving the Ave of the Giants, but you'll definitely feel small while doing it. It's unlikely you'll ever see trees this massive again during your life time, but this is a drive to make at least once. Be sure to take your time driving the old Hwy 101 and savour the... 更多
I've never seen such beautiful trees. They were enormous and awesome. On highway 101, going south, the North entrance is just past Scotia, and before Pepperwood, and now you're in "The Avenue of the Giants". ("We took the road that said, "Avenue of the Giants".) .This will take your breath away. (And it's free) You can pull off the road... 更多
Some of the tallest trees in the world are along this avenue. We drove through most of it which takes about an hour or so though a twisty road. There are pulloffs along the way for slower drivers and photo opportunities. We went on the Rockerfeller hike which was lovely and followed along the Eel river (it was less than... 更多
This is a wonderful drive top to bottom! I drive a 32ft RV and had no issues what so ever. There are lots of pull outs and places to take a break and look around. The redwoods along the way are breathtaking. I would note that a lot of the shops and restaurants were closed at the end of Oct... 更多
Avenue of the Giants is a 41 mille 2 lane road thru Humboldt Redwoods state park, The road parallels US 101 but is slower going depending on the number of stops you make. A MUST DO IF YOU WANT TO SEE REDWOODS. The trees are not as large as Muir Woods but are very impressive. A thoroughly enjoyable drive.
