Everyone from 2 to 200 should visit Fern Canyon. The walk to the center is flat and lined with easy foot bridges over the creak. For more adventurous types you can go all the way through which includes climbing over a many hundred year tree that fell to the canyon floor. This place is magical, fairylike, hobbit like and my... 更多
A highlight of our trip to Redwood National Park. Wonderful hike includes seeing redwoods, a fern-covered canyon, and Pacific beach. Don't miss it if you visit Redwood.
My family and loved fern canyon. This was our second time visiting. It is so pretty and an easy hike for kids. Plus there are other trails you can hike in that area. However, there seemed to be a crazy amount of people compared to our first visit 6 years ago.
We came here in the morning and were able to get a parking spot, so it is probably safer to arrive early. The hike was very flat; however, you had to cross through brooks/streams (there were bridges most of the time). You also have to climb over some large logs and trees--this might be a problem for some. This canyon... 更多
Wow! First you must drive down a narrow gravel road. Not recommended for trailers or large campers. Make sure you have the correct change to pay the fee of $8 to get in! It is a beautiful drive. The parking area is not real big and may get crowded since this is a busy location. There are bathrooms and picnic... 更多
While the journey is often the destination....both were pretty amazing in their own rights. The road to the canyon is about 1/2 through just magical redwood forest on a dirt road with the last half along a very pot holed road along the beach...complete with a couple of small "water crossings". Once you get to the end of the road... 更多
What a beautiful and peaceful place! Only had a short one day visit to Redwood National Park, and this was a must see for us. A short very easy hike from the parking area (but it IS a long drive back to that lot!!) and you feel as if you've taken a step back in time. In fact, some scenes... 更多
Wow, be prepared to be amazed. Fern Canyon is one of the most stunning and surreal natural wonders I've visited. Located in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, you can arrive via car or hike in 5 miles from the main park entrance a few miles up the road. If you do come by car, it's best to arrive early in... 更多
We found this place listed as a place of interest. My husband studied the instructions and braved the drive. Take the risk, follow the instructions and find this place. It is an adventure to drive through the area and it is worth it.
Cons: 1) If you have any breathing problems you need to know the dust is horrible. All the plants and trees are covered with dust along this dirty dusty road. 2) there are only a few parking spots at the end and the park rangers keep sending cars down until it was gridlock and no cars could move. They said... 更多
