For a regional society backed museum, Picton exceeds expectations. It is packed with genuine artifacts and full of stories about the people, families and business that built Picton and the Marlborough Sounds. This is a charming little museum providing a great insight to the history of Picton and some of its more colourful people. There is enough here to keep you enthralled for more than an hour or so, as there are movie snippets and plenty of reading material.

I spent several hours here. Very good tour guide. Enjoyed the rare blue penguins. Nice interactive area for kids. I hope this review was concerning the marine museum, as I did not see the other.
After bypassing a few other attractions that would have whipped more than $100 from my wallet I took my 3 children here....$1 each and $5 for me. It had a lot of early nz paraphnalia, but as the children were studying nz whaling this is what we spent the most time looking at. Great to support these smaller places manned... 更多
