We visited here yesterday, it was a nice stroll round the huts that were open sadly they were not all open but then it is only March, I can imagine when the season starts it will be a lovely day out with family........no food so take your win.
Lovely surroundings, easy to get to via the number one bus from Riga. But in late february, all the houses were shut and the there was no where on site to buy food or drink of any sort. Slushy snow and snow melt on most of the paths. However, the setting was very atmospheric and we spent about 2 hours... 更多
We visited the Open Air Museum in mid-February and there was still snow and a real chill in the air. The day we visited it was sleeting but undeterred we got the #1 bus from central Riga for the 40-min trip out. Entrance to the museum was only €2 per person, perhaps as it was off season, which was well... 更多
Very interesting visit. It was very cold with frozen snow on ground and Lake Jugla frozen.Centuries old wooden houses with original working implements showing amazing innovation of how they lived and worked. Absolutely loved it. Wonderful walk through pine forest away from Riga.
An open air museum, that will take you about one day to walk around and enjoy the scenery/buildings and atmosphere of a historical/traditional Latvian country life. I suggest you go there in the first part of the day, about 10 a.m. Some houses are closed up, and some houses are open and are decorated with historically accurate stuff. Some houses... 更多
Easiest way is to catch a bus which passes fairly close to the museum entrance .. 300-400 meters. The bus at this time of the year was only 1 per hour so the visit must be timed. We found it interesting even though light snow was falling. Some buildings were closed .. again the time of the year I expect.
An amazing visit here! A great open air museum with typical Latvian buildings with a few people in traditional clothes selling some stuff or doing some animation. All reachable by just walking in the woods from building to building in a route you like. The museum is somewhat out of the City center, we went there by taxi but I... 更多
We easily caught the no 1 bus there and back from Riga. This was a fascinating visit. Comparible only to Beamish in the U.K. Buildings kept for historical reasons. Very beautiful setting. Lovely to get some fresh air and see how Latvia was. Loved the sleighs in the sheds. Fisherman's huts and village. We stayed till dusk and it did... 更多
A short trip from old town Riga. A beautiful gem. Walk through authentic buildings, churches and houses. See the hand made fences and tools. A really fun time.
