It's a large museum and on my visit the main shed was given over to a model railway show. A lot of steam locos but little post steam (I suspect it's still running). The displays are good but I could not find a gift shop or guidebook and little accommodation for foreigners in the explanations. Nothing by way of graphic... 更多
Personally I am not that interested in trains but this museum park is something else. We took a while to get out there on various public transports but it was worth it. So many old locos, a 'garden train' ride which compares favourably with one we have near Bristol and Bath (Avon Valley Country Park) - it's very long and... 更多
Well, this was the first time when I've actually visited railway museum ever. Before I didn't appreciate how big the steam locomotives are but there we were able to enter almost every one of them. We've spent nearly 2 hours in this museum and for someone like me it was amazing experience. While we were on site, there was maybe... 更多
This museum is super nice. Great for train fans and families with kids.if you want to see all and good we recommend more than 3 h visit. Some of the trains were not open which was a pity for us but the open ones were super and some are running and moved inside the museum's yard. To reach this place... 更多
We spent a good 3 hours at the Hungarian Railway Museum Park. There were old engines of all sizes and ages, some you were allowed to climb up on and others you weren't. The day we visited there were perhaps only 20 other visitors on site, so we always managed to climb aboard the engines at our leisure and have... 更多
We took my father-in-law, a train fanatic and he was thrilled. He could recognize all the different types of trains. The place is vast - they are real trains, not miniatures - so take good shoes and be prepared to walk a lot.
If you are a train enthusiast, this is a great place to visit. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing and climbing around all of the trains on display.
Wonderful to see so many steam locos around the turntable by the engine sheds. We visited on a steam day and enjoyed the atmosphere. Easy to get to by train from the centre of Budapest.
This museum is not a classic one and it definitely worth a visit, even once every month. A great place to take your kids from the age of about one and a half years old, even if they are not railway maniacs, moreover, it can be fun for adults, too. There are plenty of old locomotives, engines and wagons to... 更多
