6 of us from the states enjoyed a beautiful piano musical by finalists in the prestigious Litz concert finals. If there was a negative take water as it was VERY warm, as well as a fan. Admittedly, we are spoiled Americans who love our AC, but even others were suffering as well. It was still worth it. Also, it would... 更多
We went to the Liszt Academy to research my husband's mother's records and thanks to the understanding and considerate librarian Maria Csanda she patiently helped us to find the information we needed. She also gave further details of where to obtain additional documents. We were so grateful to her for all she did for us.
As others have described, this Academy--with an extraordinary list of prestigious alums-- has a beautiful concert hall with a grand history. Nice to look at from the outside, the lobby and stairways are spectacular Art Nouveau while the concert hall itself has a more Baroque feel. This venue hosts many concerts that are reasonably priced, although we found it difficult... 更多
It is impossible to leave this place not inspired to do great things and become a better person. At least that's how I feel having been to this wonderful location and seen what I can only describe as awe inspiring. I have been such beauty such an enthusiasm for the arts.
The finals of the Liszt International Piano competition happened to be on, we got tickets at the door for a very reasonable price and heard some delightful renditions of the Liszt Piano Sonata in a superb venue. This academy is well worth a visit for a recital when you are in Budapest.
The venue was completely renew 3 years ago. Now it shines as it was before. The building itself and the decoration is breathtaking. And of course the concerts what they offer are world class.
Really worth seeing. Took part in a guided tour, which is available daily at 13.30. The guide was very good and spoke English clearly. The tour was supposed to take 50 minutes but it took over 60 minutes for a very good reason. We were so lucky that we had the opportunity to listen to a young cellist playing in... 更多
We went to 2 concerts here.....the venue is fabulous and well worth a visit even if you aren't going to a concert. The architecture is Art Nouuveau and after a recent renovation, pristine. There are tours almost every day at 1:30 pm. There are numerous concert performances held here, ask at the booking desk to find out more. Seating is... 更多
This is a lovely place to go and see great concerts, jazz or classical, home grown and international. The large concert hall is very beautiful - worth the price of admission in its own! - and the atmosphere and acoustics are both excellent.
The famous Franz Liszt Music Academy is named after its Hungarian founder and first director who was in his time a star pianist as well as a composer, and who is now one of the immortal heroes of classical music. With financial aid of the European Union, the academy's Art Deco building has been refurbished recently, and we took the... 更多
