(arts award review) There were three exhibitions at the time, 'rock space and time', 'passion' and 'the contempary collection'. I would definitely recommend that you visit the Ludwig museum because the art is so interesting and expressive. this art inspired me because there are many forms of art in one place. it shows that you can do whatever type of... 更多
the entire Hungarian section had no English or German or Russian sub-titles, just lazy attitude and disregard for foreign visitors on each each floor some ticket attendant chased me down demanding to see my ticket, as if I sneaked in without paying the space itself is fantastic though most of the content was rather weak HUF2400 was simply too much... 更多
The Ludwig has fallen into the trap of presenting a "cultural " review versus art. Pop music, rock music...any music...is on the periphery of art. You could say the same about TV, books, newspapers, technology. Two of the 3 floors are devoted to this music reference. And it is poorly done. A massive wall graphic showing cassette to CD to... 更多
There were two exhibitions at the time of our visit: one titled "Passion: Fan Behaviour and Art", and another one (the name escapes me) dealing with Hungarian Communist past. "Passion" was nice, a lot of takes on the concept were presented by artists Hungarian and foreign. The 2nd exhibition was better in my view, much more reflective and with a... 更多
I very much liked the variety of the permanent collection. Different topics, different kinds of artworks,.. Unfortunately there were no explanations in English, which often made it hard to understand the artworks/the artists' intentions. Especially in contemporary art, I think this is essential. I do not recommend this museum to other tourists. The building itself is definitely worth visiting though,... 更多
There was only one exhibition floor during the time I was here. The art was really cool, mostly critiquing the communist and post-communist society. It was definitely contemporary art. The concession ticket was cheap and the there café offered a good tea break for talking about the exhibition afterwards. It feels like the museum is a bit "out of the... 更多
The building of the museum is beautiful and it is quite spacious, but the permanent exhibition is certainly not at the level of the museum's name. Unless the purpose of this exhibition is the concept of ''everything that is manmade is art'', which is actually a concept I wouldn't disagree with, it is not worth visiting. A taxidermy pig watching... 更多
Most attractions shut at 6pm or earlier. The Ludwig stays open till 8pm and the current exhibition on Pop Art is superb. Along with the international big names, you get also Eastern Europeans artists which made me think that the iron curtain was not that strong. Really loved the Claes Oldenberg gallery within the gallery.
There was a nice photo exhibit when I was there, but not a ton of other things. I don't know if they are remodeling or what. It's a pretty location on the river....some outdoor sculpture etc.
