Learning about the history of the Jews in Warsaw (at one point they were 30% of the population) was eye opening. Everyone should go and visit the memorial and museum. We seem to so easily forget how tragic this is and with what's going on in the world now with Holocaust deniers, we (as a society) can't forget.
The monument is clearly powerful. What hit us hardest was the baby behind Mordechai. There was no one there when we came, which definitely made it more somber. A reminder to everyone what happens when evil is allowed to flow unchecked. The horrendous deaths of innocent children and adults is a stain on humanity. The bravery of the Jewish people is astounding.
A memorial in the front of the museum. Its an art! And of course honor to the person who died. If you go to the museum just vitit it!
