So far I have visited Pawiak Museum more than 30 times to pay the respect and tribute for 300000 prisoners who passed the doors of this Prison. The Museum on the other side of Dzielna Street, has the library and the archives files of many prisoners.
If you're short on time, and need to make choices, pick the Gestapo Museum over this place. The Gestapo museum leaves a much stronger impression, is better laid out, and is more interesting than the Pawiak prison - even though Pawiak is a bigger museum. Also, the hours are not reliable. We went there one day and the doors were... 更多
The place is staffed by Stalin's old crones with all the friendliness you'd expect of them! Zilch! My guidebook and the tourist info said that a visit to this and Szucha should be on the same ticket: admittedly, that's only 10 zloty per visit, but you don't get a great deal at either. My advice: don't go - it's out... 更多
Small museum which tells the story of those who were incarcerated here by the Gestapo and what happened to them.Though out of the way worth sparing the time for a visit.
I really wanted to see the Pawiak Prison museum because I knew the impact of the place would have a profound effect, which it certainly does. The thing about places like Pawiak and Auschwitz is that you really don't need to know every single detail about the past, you don't need to be incredibly well read about the holocaust, because... 更多
Quite well done museum with helpful staff. Lots of information and artifacts. Displays are in former cells. We went on a Thursday which was free, not sure about admissions on other days.
We walked all the time while in Warsaw but the walk from the uprising museum to here took us past sex shops and some dubious clubs. We did cross the ghetto wall markers though so that was a bonus! The prison was only a block from several sex shops but it was a busy main road so probably ok. Not... 更多
Having visited the Gestapo H.Q. in the morning, we wanted to visit the prison museum as well, although they are not close to each other so be sure to plan your route. Total entry to the two sites is just eight zloty. There is almost too much to take in here, as the exhibits and explanations are extensive, but for... 更多
interesting museum, particularly when combined with other historical, world war two trips! It builds part of a fantastic itinerary. It only takes 1-2 hours to look around and is very cheap so is definitely worth it, very informative without featuring too much information
