Krakow is such an amazing city in that the entire Old Town is crowned by this lovely, clean park. What a pleasure to sit and read or to watch the people enjoying the park. There are many monuments in the park and plenty of benches. And oh so clean. Why can't Americans care so much about keeping our land clean?
A beautiful, green space which forms a path around the old town.
A delightful place to walk around and spend time away from the hustle and bustle.
There are shaded paths, statues, water features, pretty flowers and lots of benches if you fancy a relax.
Planty Park surrounds the old town of Kraków and is a lovely quiet area in which to walk or just sit and contemplate. At various spots there are works of art and the Barbican is situated at the northern end. A really nice place.
Weather was hot so good to escape the sun at times. Area can surprise you with sculptures, art works, fountains, exhibitions. Used by local people as well as tourists. We loved dropping back here and away from the main, busy areas.
Very good walk between major attractions, some evidence of the old city walls and a peaceful diversion from the main market square. We found it particularly pleasant at dusk and enchanting especially as the lights came on dimly at first. It can be quite busy with pedestrians but all in all a nice serene quiet walk
Whoever came up with the idea to create a park where the old city walls were... great idea. The park is great to walk in when going to different areas of the old city, Wavel hill and many more. It provides a lot of shade when walking in the city on hot summer days.
