Everybody goes to Wieliczka, which is of course great, but Bochnia salt mine is so much bigger and so much more fun for kids (and adults:)). The trip is entertaining, inter-active, and you learn all you ever wanted to know about mining, but not too much.
We chose a standard tour to the multimedia exposition plus a boat ride. It took us around 3,5 h to finish the tour. At the beginning it was kinda boring but eventually we discovered a long wooden slide and that was awesome!
We visited as a group of 3 (one couple and a friend) and as part of the tour we stayed overnight. The concept is great, the reality wasn't. The walking tour was more than 3 hours long, the guides only spoke Polish and nothing was translated into English - not even the information boards and signs. There are very few... 更多
We were there with our kids (age 8 and 5). The small train inside was nice, but after that there was just loads of walking and listening. They have new screens to find out about the history, but still it was quite boring. The main attraction is the long slide, which was a huge disappointment. You were supposed to sit... 更多
After having been down the Wieliczka Salt Mine we thought it would be nice to see somewhere different. This is not as big as its more famous partner. This mine is the original salt mine in this area. It is far, far quieter than its bigger partner. I really think it would be worth going on the behind the scenes... 更多
The Bochnia Salt Mine is one of the oldest salt mines in the world and the oldest one in Poland and Europe. The traditions of salt mining in the Bochnia area may be traced back 3,500 years B.C. The origins of the Bochnia mine as a mining plant reach back to the year 1248. It is a must do for... 更多
It really breaks my heart to give Bochnia less than 5 starts. I give one star for the chappel and the other star for the train ride. If I was on tripAdvisor in 2010 I would recommend Bochnia without hesitation. We had an amazing tour guide at that time (in Polish) and the whole experience was so much fun with... 更多
Incredible visit of a medieval salt mine. It is easy access by bus from Cracow and much less crowded than Wieliczka, and to my opinion, just a good. The Bochnia salt mine is still used to cure asthma and respiratory problems and houses a dormitory and a summer camp for children who stay for two weeks in the salt mine... 更多
It is a wonderful place. Very very interesting and so much fun. The tour guides were great and the activities as well. Lots of special effects, the train ride and the long slide was fantastic! The boat trip is a must do! I highly recommend this place- you won't regret it!
