If you visit Ostrava, this park is worth seeing (if you are with a camper, this a great place to stay!) A lot of green area, you can do a lot of sport there, see the Mining Museum (if you want to go down under, you have to take about 2 hours for the whole adventure but it's worth it).... 更多
If you have a day to spare, this would be great choice! Rly interesting museum. Been there couple times already and never get bored :)
This is one of 2 mines I visited while in Ostrava. This mine tour is in a very large park like setting. The park is not part of the tour so explore it separately if you want to. The tour is in Czech but I rented (100) an English audio to play during the tour. I had some trouble with... 更多
This is extraordinary museum where you can either see exhibits or touch them and feel yourself like a miner decades ago. After using a shaft-lift you will walk through real drills with real machines accompanied by dummies dressed like miners. I recommend the visit warmly.
I had no idea that coal was such an industry in Ostrava, and is still used to heat so many homes in the Czech Republic. I never really understood coal mining, and its dangers, until I visited this museum and tour of the actual mine. The guided museum tour and the mine tour are both one hour each, so plan... 更多
The trip to the underworld of the abandoned mine is fascinating. The guides are former miners themselves, so they have understanding of the topic and passion for it. Not recommended for claustrophobic people, you literally feel the weight of the earth over your head.
(non-Czech) language is an issue, as reported by others; we have been only two visitors and got a kind and shy former miner as a guide, who walked through the tunnels much faster than the audio guide succeeded to inform us about the points of interest... but we enjoyed; the undergorund minining exposition is not very big, but quite well... 更多
If you are not from mining area, you will find this attraction very strange but it is a great experience that nobody should miss when visiting Ostrava. Unfortunately, I do not know if they are ok to do a tour in English but whenever I took my English speaking friends, I translated for them - so I would recommend you... 更多
We took a tour. We also bought an audio guide. There were times where the audio guide went 55 seconds and the Czech language guide, who seemed to be a former miner, talked for perhaps 10 minutes. We really would have liked to have heard what he was saying. I understand they can't have English guides for everyone - but... 更多
