I definitely recommend to visit this museum. Though i'm not interested so much in techiques i found it very exciting, there a lot of interesting exhibitions you will enjoy, ancient musical instruments you can hear the sound of if you ask a staff worker to do it for you.
Not very big, mainly exponats to see, not a lot of them "the hands on" style, Might be boring for kids, but there is a nice technical playground on one floor. The Brno Technical Museum has a lot of potential, sporting an interesting collection of Czech cars and motorcycles. However, as a foreigner, I really felt the absence of proper English translations of tags and item cards.

Awesome place, and we have to return quite frequently with the kids. You have to be lucky, so the staff is presenting you how the exhibited things were working... And a cafeteria would be welcome...
