incredible C1st BC amphitheatre at Acinipo (Ronda la Vieja) fabulously intact wall, 360 degree views, cover up or use suncream because there is no shade. Unbelievably quiet for a Roman ruin of this calibre. Highly recommended - be prepared for a load of 'Gladiator' quotes.
A must if you are in the area. The amphitheatre is spectacular and you can easily imagine the building used 2000 years ago. Well restored. If you go further up the hill you can look over the wall at a fantastic view towards the west. Downsides: - very restricted opening times so check before you visit - the walk to... 更多
As Roman sites go there isn't really very much to see, though the remains of the theatre ARE impressive. The wonder is that the Romans ever managed to create a town on the windswept site, now so empty apart from heaps of stones from their demolished buildings. But what a site! Climb the extra metres beyond the top of the... 更多
These ruins are a short drive from Ronda and the admission is gratis. The grounds have an excellent view of the surrounding area. The ruins are not currently being excavated so do not expect any real explanation at the site. There is a short explanative pamphlet on what you see. There is almost no signage to guide you. The more... 更多
We visited these ruins while on a day trip from Ronda. You will need a car or be on a tour to see them as I can't image there is any public transit and it is too far to walk. We did not have a guide, other than what we were given at the gate. Despite that it was worth... 更多
This Roman amphitheatre is situated just off a country road about ten miles from Ronda. If you are interested in Roman history it is worth a visit, and entrance is free. Although it was open when we arrived, I believe opening times are restricted to a few mornings a week, the site closing, like many other amenities in this part... 更多
By the look of these ruins built in the middle of nowhere perched on a steep hilltop, everything. Phenomenal ruins with almost unbelievable views from the summit. A bit like low flying!!
It is a 20 KMS drive from Ronda along a country road and well worth the trip. It is free to enter and a walk around the site which is on the side of a hill is covered with old ruins and is overgrown. The main attraction is the amphitheatre at the top of the hill and in its golden... 更多
Free entrance but no information but little to look at. Remains of a theatre and baths and lots of inexplicable piles of rocks. Go to Ocuri near Ubrique instead.
