We loved our exploration of the Brig Amity. Wandering around the replica was extremely interesting and the audio tour helped to compkete the picture. Definitely worth the $4 (concession).
It was very interesting to learn the story of how Albany became colonised. When you arrive at the Replica of the Brig Amity you are given handsets which look like mobile phones that tells the story of how the settlers arrived in Albany. I never went on-board but our friend did and he really enjoyed the boat and its history. You can get some great photos of the boat from the outside and you can see some of the original sea wall.
We visited the Brig Amity on a very rainy day but this did not really spoil our enjoyment of the ship. It was very interesting to learn all about the history of the area and the conditions aboard the ship. The guide was very good at explaining everything and we found the tour fascinating. Highly recommended.
What a wonderful replica from the original this is a lovely ship and you can imagine what life would have been like coming out from the other side of the world not really knowing if you would make it here. Great to bring the kids
