Paid a small fee at the excellent museum 100m away and boarded the brig. The brig itself it not too big so it's worthwhile getting the audio tour (which turned out to be excellent). You are able to squeeze downstairs to the decks below which gives you a real idea of how the men lived on the ship all those... 更多
Great ship that has been replicated for the public to see and take a tour of. The audio is very well done as you tour the boat and type in your numbers into the hand held device you can hear the story/history of the ship and the landing. Wonderful to see the whole ship and sleeping quarters as well as... 更多
They guy who tells the stories on the Brig is just amazing. He had the attention of adults, backpackers and children while detailing the wierd Things that happened on a ship when the original "Amity" sailed. The guy had sailed the world himself and had plenty of his own stories to share when done telling about Amity. It's a must... 更多
The Brig Amity is an excellent place to visit. It offers excellent photo opportunities and provides a realistic representation of the space and conditions experienced by early mariners.
This Brig Amity is a full sized replica of the original vessel that sailed into Albany (then King Georges Sound) from Sydney back in 1826 with the first white settlers of the area onboard. It is located right on Princess Royal Harbour. Entry fee of $5 entitles you to get onboard with an audio guide and see what life was... 更多
A great little place to stop at and take some great photos. Close to the old Goal as well. You can purchase tickets if you wish to get a tour of the boat.
Being able to go over the ship was a wonderful experience and insight into life and travel on such a vessel. The commentary was very good also.
A good diversion form the 'mian museam'. helpful staff willing to give extra information and detail. Lots of information boards to read in the immediate surrounding area as well as on board. To think the 64 souls sailed from England on the original. It was arduous enough on a 777 and the Airbus A380!
For only $5 you get a fascinating audio tour with many interesting snippets of information. Plenty of doors, drawers and boxes to open below decks to keep kids happy too. Loved it!
