After a medium walk to the end of Emma Gorge we come to a wonderful clean cool waterhole with ferns growing on the vertical surfaces and water dripping down the walls. It was a refreshing (and very cool!) swim. Personally I preferred the small hot spring situated to the right edge of the waterhole where I spent a long time... 更多
Well worth the walk, although I recommend very early in the day and good walking shoes! A nice swim at the end is essential, we made it with all our various medical issues and so did our 7 yr old, minimal complaints from him too! Swim shoes would be good for the pool at the end to make walking easier... 更多
Follow the marked rocky path through the gorge all the way to the end and see the waterfall. It is also a great swimming hole so take your bathers (swimmers, cozzies) and spend a good hour relaxing and cooling off. Take some snacks and drinks and good hiking shoes. also take some water shoes because the pool floor is very... 更多
The road into the gorge resort was very rough, suitable only for a 4WD. There was a charge to visit, as this is not a National Park... it is privately owned. Don't get out off by the walk to the gorge. For anyone with at least medium fitness it's (literally) a walk in the park. We arrived at the waterfall just as a group was leaving so we had the place almost to ourselves. It was magical.
Emma Gorge Wilderness Resort is an oasis in a desert. Here you can unwind in comfort, have a cool dip in the resort's pool a few drinks at the bar or stroll through the gift shop. For the adventurous there is an exciting, though slightly dangerous trek to the gorge but I'm assured that once there you'll be amazed at... 更多
We hiked Emma Gorge just over a week ago when we were in the Kununurra area as part of our drive around Australia. It is just under 4kms and fairly easy to hike for us even with a few places where we had to scramble over rocks but definitely doable for most people. When you get to the waterfall and... 更多
