I went here in January for the first time in around 20 years. It was a Sunday morning in scorching hot weather & although the visitor center was unmanned i was pleasantly surprised to find it open. It was a great escape from the heat & it had some great information about the different type of telescopes there and how... 更多
Looking into the night sky has always amazed me. The beauty is without depth and the stunning constellations and collections are breathtaking. On a recent visit through NSW, we had the chance to visit the Radio Array. Being a Tech nut the shear size and stature of these dishes blew me away. The design and construction was incredible and for... 更多
I went to this place couple of months ago and I found it very interesting. Although I am not an astronomy enthusiast but still this subject fascinates me. I went to a number of similar centers around Australia but this one was very interesting. I actually did not know that radio waves can be used to map the universe.
This was an amazing experience for one and all. We would highly recommend the trip and time out at this spot. Kids loved the experience to understand the history and also enjoyed the movie and information provided. A must see if you're into science, discovery and technology.
I found this place interesting. If you are into astronomy/astrology, you will love it. It has a number of big satellite dishes that move along rail tracks. Throughout the area there are other small dishes that are interactive and informative. I have been here twice in the last five years but I have never seen anybody around. You know there... 更多
A moving experience. Was the only person there as it was early and I really felt quite small compared to the universe and what these people do for a living.
We spent about an hour looking at the Giant telescopes and in the Information centre. You can see 5 Telescopes and watch them move on their tracks. The information centre is very informative and includes a film about the Telescopes. It is free entry to the centre.
Unfortunately the visitor information centre was unmanned and the video was not operating properly, so it was a bit difficult to understand several things.
We enjoyed our visit, although weren't aware prior to our arrival that it is self guided. The place is unmanned, there is no one there to answer any questions. It's pretty much deserted at the tourist part. Very obviously there are people working in the NO ENTRY or PRIVATE area's. There are a few signs to read and a video... 更多
