We went with the pilot training tour, and had one of the best experiences ever. Our teacher, Matt, was fantastic on the day. We where allowed to do much more than we thought we could. Basically we took off in the plane, flew the plane, experienced amazing views, had fantastic fun doing tricks in the sky, saw marine wildlife and... 更多
It was a last minute decision whether to take a whale watching boat to see the Sperm Whales or to take a plane trip to view from above. When we saw the price to fly for 45 minutes was actually less than a boat we decided to book with Air Kaikoura. We were so glad we did! Instead of being... 更多
It was my first time of flying and it was amazing ! Staff was superfriendly, your just felt save with them in the plane (what's pretty important i think) my instructor Matt was an awesome guy ! Would recommend it to everybody to do this !! Best thing i did in New Zealand !!
The trip was fun as it was our first time on plane for whale watching. The view is spectacular plus the good weather. We flew for about 45 minutes and I started to feel sick due to motion air sickness. The pilot looked up and down for whale but we did not catch a glimpse of it. We did however... 更多
I did the pilot-a-plan option with Mel, and it was so much fun! I got to pilot a lot more than I had anticipated which was so exciting, and we had lovely weather for a great view. I would do this over and over again if I had the time :)
Such a beautiful trip with amazing views! The kaikoura ranges looked spectacular and we also go to fly over the township and the peninsula, awesome perspective!!! We seen a whale next to the whale watch boats, a really good way to get an idea of how big the sperm whales are! Murray and Matt were great, very informative an talked... 更多
This trip was bought for us as a gift and what a gift! Our pilot Murray was enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable. The trips are run by the Aero Club and all profits go back into club funds. The pilots liaise with the whale-spotting boats and whale-watching boat trips so you have the maximum chance of seeing whales. On our trip... 更多
Murray gave us a warm welcome and made us aware that there were not as many whales surfacing at the moment but we were happy to go for the scenery anyway. Our flight started out by watching dolphins doing flips in the water. Then we managed to see the tail of a whale before it went back down. The scenery... 更多
From the warm welcome to photos taken at the end, this trip was incredible. Murray, our pilot, was brilliant, he predicted the whales movements perfectly and we got some breathtaking photos, a 10/10 experience from start to finish!
It was my second fix wing piloting in NZ on the 9 March. The first one took place in another airfield. The instructor was Matt , a great instructor who encourage me and a very nice man. After I told him this is my second flight he encouraged me not only to have a full control during flight but also to... 更多
I did some research before booking an airplane whale watching tour in Kaikoura. Here are the reasons why I chose Air Kaikoura Aero Club: 1) Amazing TripAdvisor reviews talking about the passion of the people flying the planes and their dedication to ensuring you have an awesome experience 2) The charge for the trip essentially goes back to the AeroClub... 更多
We spotted 2 whales. Must say that though you get to appreciate its lenght it is still very far from the top.. gets me wondering how awesome it would have been to view these from the boat... to give some context, the dolphins weren't seen clearly at all and just looked split a splutter in the water Also keep in... 更多
Hello, Thank you for your review and comments. I was your pilot on this flight and I can remember it... 更多
We didn't want to spend a half a day bobbing in the ocean to see whales, so we opted for the Aero Club's half hour trip. Three passengers plus the pilot took off to get our whale watch ticket punched. Well we flew around, flew around, flew around and ...nothing! Thankfully the pilot was determined we'd see our whale. Sure... 更多
We were in NZ in December 2014 and we decided to choose Kaikura as our last destination in NZ. Quite early Air Kaikura was recommended to us by our hotel and we gave it a try. On our first flight we managed to see some Dolphins but unluckily we were unable to find a wale although our air time was... 更多
