Its at the large scale end of the wineries and as a result I feel the quality of the wines aren't the best at the cellar door. Get off the beaten track and there's a few gems!
Spent 2 days in the Hunter Vallery and this was our least favourite tasting. It does depend on the person you get but the guy we spoke too was a just a bit too patronising for our liking, telling us that wine we were tasting 'really is amazing isn't it ?' before we could offer our own opinion of it... 更多
We found it very hard to rate this winery. A little dated, and busy, it seemed to cater for the "scoffer"-that visitor that is intent on getting a tummy full of wine, with a bit of interaction from the tasting team, with little to no intention of buying. I have found that a tasting experience is very dependent on the person behind the counter. Get the right person and even very ordinary wine can taste good. That is not the case at McGuigan Wines where we got an excellent individual behind the counter and the wine was also good. We tasted the 2014 and 2009 Semillon as well... 更多
