What a wonderful concept...a museum in a great hardware store. This was the best thing about our trip to Invercargill. The content and presentation of the historical and store items was faultless. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was refreshing. A lovely seating area with free tea and coffee and TV was great. While we found not a lot... 更多
They said the place has everything and it does. Got so distracted by the old motor bikes and vehicles I forgot why I was in there. Staff weren't bother I wasn't buying anything quite happy for me to have a look, thank you. If you like old bikes and some nz history stop and have a look.
All mixed in with a working hardware store are vintage and antique machinery, including the original Indian motorbike that starred in the film 'The Worlds Fastest Indian'. A must see.
We had heard that Hayes Harware store in Invercargill was worth visiting and this certainly did not disappoint. They have a great collection off classic and vintage motorcycles displayed alongside the usual things you might expect to find in a hardware store.
