The theatre itself is very nice, got that old fashioned but proud feel about it. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. The negative was the seats, they are narrow and hard so it took away from the performance. Went here to watch the ballet. Terrible seating in the stalls - nowhere to put drinks, not tiered enough if there are tall people in the rows ahead so very hard to see the stage and there were very hard uncomfortable seats. St James's theatre is a wonderful venue. It is designed in the old school with colonnades, the Gods and a true theatrical experience being provided. The St James is lovely inside. So beautifully old architecture that is well maintained. A nice venue to watch a show. The cafe attached to the theatre has just been renovated and looks great. I recommend going to a show at this theatre
Having recently visited the St James Theatre for a performance , we had an absolutely amazing evening. It is perfectly located on Courtenay Place, across the road from the Reading Cinema. The St James is the perfect venue for a performance. The evening was Topp class and we had a great time.
I have been to a number of musical shows at this theatre and have never been disappointed by the seat I booked ( usually on line ) or the clarity of the production.
