we (my 22 year old son and I) went here after visiting (and walking the summit trail) on Mount Maunganui. It is about 30 min from Maunganui and very easy to get to with Maps on Iphone. I love waterfalls and have seen a good #; i didn't know how this would go over with my son. We saw the... 更多
A beautiful spot that locals forget to visit. Gorgeous views of the Mt and a lovely track with various sized waterfalls. You can walk down and back up in 30 minutes but to enjoy the views amble and take an hour. The track back up is quite steep but only 15 minutes. Great swimming spot in summer.
This place is very hit and miss. Too much rain= muddy dirty water and not enough water= shallow pools. Save some energy after your swim for the hike up the hill.
Drove to the falls with some friends and we were the only people there. We parked in a public parking spot for the falls and walked down the path into the woods. There you saw many beautiful, gigantic ferns and a beautiful waterfall that trickled all the way down. It was as if we just happened to stumble upon our... 更多
Went here in the summer and could see 3 falls at the same time. Its a bit tricky to get to, but always good to keep the spot a bit secluded i think. there is int much parking there, but with less people coming there, it should be fine
We had an injured member of our party and yet we concluded the circuit in an hour. The falls are beautiful, and then when one descends further there is another cascade and this one has a lot of of mist coming off so if you have a good camera it had better be weather sealed, or use a Samsung or... 更多
Stumbled across this place when we passed a sign at the end of a road - so glad we stopped to have a look. Two different walks signposted down from the car park at the top. We were totally unprepared for the breathtaking view of the tumbling falls. As you continue to walk down, the surprises continue - lovely. People... 更多
This has beautiful walks and some gorgeous falls I would really just not recommend swimming here as the water source into the falls comes straight off a number of the local farms water runs and has a high risk of contamination. There are signs for this up there which you can not miss.
