Got there 4:30 left 7:30pm, with seats around the railing, good seating everywhere. Pretty up-market place beautifully situated high up. Had a few drinks, pizza and when the sun went down it was pitch black. The moonrising was stunning, amazingly red moon slowly appeared and the reflected staircase appeared. An indigenous young man played haunting didgeridoo music which was just... 更多
The staircase to the moon is good but the viewing from town beach at Broome was crowded. Every time I found somewhere to see, a guy who could play as a ruckman in the AFL stood in front of me. The view is better at Cape Kerauredren.
What an awesome experience to view staircase at the Mangrove accompanied by didgeridoo... you could not help but be moved by this experience and better understand why the indigenous inhabitants and original owners of this country were awed by so many of its' aspects and natural phenomena. We viewed from The Mangrove with many other visitors though you can also... 更多
Staircase to the moon is a natural occurrence when the full moon rises over the beach and creates a "staircase" of reflected light. It only happens a few times each year and is certainly worth seeing. We were told that markets were run in conjunction with Staircase to the Moon - so we went. There were only about 20 stalls... 更多
We watched the moon rise at Roebuck Bay Caravan Park. We had an ocean front site and it was wonderful to see the moonrise and reflect across the tidal mud flats of the Ocean. A must if your in Broome at the right time.
If you're in Broome then The Mangrove hotel is the place to watch the Staircase to the Moon. Great view plus lovely food and drinks are available. An alternative place to watch it is up on the Dampier Peninsula at Gumbanan. No crowds. Plus it's a great place to camp.
We saw this phenomenon from Town Beach on the third and last night it is visible. On this night the moon was not up until 8 pm and it is beginning to wane. It was not as crowded as the middle night so it was easy to get a place to sit. The moon was a magnificent deep orange colour... 更多
We watched this from the Mangrove Hotel and the sight is just as stunning as they say in the marketing. We made an evening of it by having dinner at the hotel and then it all unfolded right in front of us!
Really worth making the effort to be in Broome at the right time to see tis amazing phenomena!!! We saw it from the vantage point of the Mangrove Hotel, with some champagne and nibblies. Really nice. Others had told us it's hard to get a good photo of but we had a good camera and did actually get a few.
