We did the drive to Tunnel Creek National Park then on to Windjana Gorge where we overnighted (see my other review for Windjana). The cave is a lot of fun, bring a flashlight though and prepare to get a bit wet and most likely you will have this place to yourself. It doesn’t take long to get through maybe 45-60... 更多
34 outside a lovely cool 20 inside the tunnel. It is a little bit of a clamber to get over the rock fall at the mouth of the tunnel so wear shoes. Depending on the time of year you will need to walk through water (up to knee height in July) and need a torch (total darkness at 2 spots).... 更多
Did the drive from Fitzroy Crossing combining it with visit to Windjana Gorge easy to do both on same day. Entrance to cave is not clearly mark, just need to scramble over the rocks until you can stand inside the tunnel cave area, most importantly have a very good torch.
Apart from footprints there are none of the tell-tale signs that this is a popular attraction. The entrance to the cave, is over and around fallen rocks that requires a degree of agility that makes it inaccessible to anyone with mobility issues. Once inside, visitors need to wade through water, immediately and at several other points. For this reason, don't... 更多
this is a 750 metre long, 30 to 40 metre wide cave with a stream running through it. Entrance is a bit of a scramble but once over 20 metres of rocks the rest is easy going. When we went through the water was up to mid calf's in 2 or 3 places, the majority of the walk was over... 更多
We drove from Windjana Gorge campsite, enjoyed our picnic lunch in the shade before joining a Bungoolee Tour of the cave system. Claude, our guide although softly spoken was very informarive. It was interesting hearing the indigenous history attached to this place. The cave itself was beautiful and cool, a great change from the external heat. The pool at the... 更多
This was part of our second day at the Kimberly. We left Windjana site early in the morning and took the less than one hour drive to tunnel creek. The drive is fairly easy. The walk itself is easy but different. You basically walk in a natural cave that used to be full of water and part of the walk,... 更多
Jeepers creepers what a blast this untouched tunnel is.....climbing over rocks and wading through the creek in the dark with only your torch light to find the most picturesque view at the end.Its absolutely free, left in its beautiful natural state and we all had a great adventure here.
If you are not on an organised tour you will need a torch. Safe to swim at end of tunnel, for best photography have a wide angled lens. Rock snakes, bats, goannas & `small` freshies in cave, but very safe. 20mins from Windjana Gorge. Amazing history about Jandamarra & the invading settlers.
