I was so looking forward to a ride on the old train but was not able. The staff were rude apart from the older train driver who was friendly and helpful .i would Not recomend comming there. Go to the caves that are spectacular and worth the visit
We visited as a large group with 9 children and 6 adults. We all had an amazing day and months later the kids still talk about it. The driver was friendly and knowledgeable and the blankets on the train were great for the cooler trip home. The BBQ facilities at the end of the rail left alot to be desired,... 更多
excellent way to spend a few hours , it's a 2 hrs round trip on an almost 100 year old train, the sights and smells of the Australian bush , our driver and tour guide damo was a fountain of information, a real larrikin , they have a cafe, clean toilets, would do it again
Despite the cold, wet weather, the train ride was great and our tour guide was very entertaining. We enjoyed a lovely hot chocolate and freshly made toasted sandwiches upon our return to the cafe and we can highly recommend the food and the friendly service.
We really enjoyed our time on this little train. The scenery was wonderful and the commentary was excellent. The driver Dave was very friendly and willing to answer any questions. The beach at the end is lovely and makes a good picnic and swimming spot.
This is such an amazing adventure! The old train and rail track was so wonderful. There are many beautiful views along the way, culminating with a stunning beach that was just perfect for a stroll & picnic. You also get to hear about the heritage of the train & local area. Highly recommended!
We thoroughly enjoyed our Ida Bay experience. The food at the café was freshly cooked, simple, but good. You pay a little more, which is to be expected given the relative isolation of the location. The train trip was interesting and fun, with a some historical references to the areas past. All the workers and volunteers were friendly and helpful.... 更多
A fantastic attraction south of Hobart. A 2 hour approx drive from Hobart with beautiful scenery on the way. Damo the train driver is fantastic, friendly and wonderful with our 4 year old. The train goes through bush land stopping along the way as damo tells stories about the history of the area. At the end of the track there's... 更多
What a quaint rail line & being the southernmost operating railway in Australia. Our driver/guide was very knowledgeable about the line & local history. Although a very cold windy day, the trip in the open sided carriage was passable due to the blankets supplied. Definitely worth the money.
