Lake Wabby is incredible. A lake created by sand barricading a paddle~ incredible, but it's slowly shrinking due to the sand. See this wonderful lake while you still can!
After viewing Lake Wabby and Hammerstone Sandblow via the lookout, it was put on the cards for visiting. It was absolutely worth the walk through the wonderful forests, across the Sandblow to arrive at a soon-to-disappear Lake Wabby. We hanged out for about 40 minutes watching the surroundings and large fish!
This is the BEST part of Fraser Island! Stunning view from the top overlooking the entire lake. The sand dunes around it are great - run down steep part and jump directly in to this refreshing clear water. It goes deep quite quickly so ideal for swimming.
After the walk to Wabbi point everybody ran to the lake and jump on it, was cool and fresh but the lake is green, deep and hundreds of fishes comes around you and if you don't move tried to eat your dead skin... most if the people didn't felt comfortable and decided to stay on the sand where it was... 更多
We discover Wabby by chance and what a place! The view from the lookout it's breathtaking, dunes, sea, forest and lake in the same picture. There is quite a walk to the lake and the waters are not as blue and transparent as lake McKenzie but still worth a visit.
This is a great sand lake deep with green water. The sand dunes run straight down to the lake. Excellent to slide down the sand into the water on a board. The walk into the lake is a killer especially if you have small children. They should allow you to drive closer to this lake.
Lake Wabby requires a short and enjoyable walk to reach. Well worth the walk, A beautiful place for a swim. Like most places, it's always nice to if you have it yourself
The walk to Lake Wabbi and Lake Wabbi itself are highlights of Fraser Islands. Leave your sandals behind and stroll through the shaded forest before heading across the plains to the beautiful green crescent lake. Pick a quiet spot and let the fish nibble your feet or simply float about staring at the forest and blue skies!
Lake Wabby is about a 2km walk from the parking area on the beach. A lot of it is under dappled shade, until you trek over the Hammerstone Sand blow and down to the emerald green water of the lake. Unlike many of the crystal clear lake and rivers, lake Wabby is a bit murky and slightly smelly from the... 更多
Although it a long hike to the lake, it's definitely worth it. The view of the sand dunes is incredible. It seems surreal! the lake itself is also really good. there are lots of fish in the lake that swim around you and the water is really clear and clean. A must see on fraser!
We did Lake Wabby as part of a 2-day tour of Fraser Island. The 2+ Km walk from the beach is somewhat strenuous through loose sand for the first few hundred metres (both going and coming back) but the rest of the walk is through a well used solid sand trail through the forest. The lake itself is quite small... 更多
