This center has been closed for several months but there is no information to show that it is closed and the reason for it Several overseas tourist tried to visit the center while we were there
Such a shame this has been closed down for over 6 months now and the space is wasted and the outside is now not maintained so looking very sad. Please mark this attraction as CLOSED Thanks
The Cultural Centre closed at the end of September 2015. The sign said the closure was permanent. We were very disappointed not to be able to enjoy this experience.
There are two sections: The Cultural Centre and the museun. The Cultural Centre has visual & oral information on Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander history & culture. In fairness, we did not explore the actual 'museum' there, but after having seen some authentic aboriginal work in the Port Douglas area, we did not see much that appealed to us in the free 'shopping' area. Therefore, we did not pay to see the rest.
Enjoyed taking the time to listen to videos of history in the museum section. Allow yourself several hours to totally enjoy, for the entrance price this is excellent.
