I always take visitors to Mt Ainslie and whenever possible, at night. You can really get a feel for the expanse of Canberra. AND of course, its really pretty at night.
This is a nice secluded place to go to and get the best views of Canberra city. It is close to the Australian War memorial so you should plan to go to both these places on the same day. Ideal time to go to Mount Ainslie is at late evening when you can get the evening and night view both... 更多
This is a great walk, for exercise, a nice chat and great views at the summit. We parked close to the war memorial and it took about 40 minutes to the stop. My partner needed a few short breaks due to the incline but not for too long. The views at the top were wonderful. Parliament was in full view... 更多
Mt. Ainslie is breath-taking at night when you see the whole of Canberra lit up like a Christmas tree. It gives you the perspective of Parliament House as it lines up with Ainslie Road. Canberra has clear nights and chilly weather so wear your fleecy jacket, beanie, scarf and gloves.

The lookout was easy to find and provided a wonderful view of Canberra looking straight up Anzac Ave from the War Memorial, past the old Parliament House and on to the new Parliament House. We visited on a lovely sunny (but cold) day and the view of the whole of the ACT was amazing. Highly recommended.
From the Lookout you get the whole view of the city and its surrounds. Lots of good walks can be had from here (I would suggest only for the fit) and there are lots of beautiful birds, especially wrens. The views are as good if not better than the view from the Telstra Tower and its free!
Mt Ainslie is a must see when in Canberra. The main view looks south directly over the War Memorial, down Anzac Ave, across Lake Burley Griffin, passed Old Parliement House to new Parliement House. On a clear day (which is very often in Canberra) the vista is spectacular. Included at the lookout are numerous plaques with interesting information about the... 更多
