It is Situated near Mawlynnong Village. Needs a 10-15 mins walk down to reach the place. The place is nice with beautiful river flowing underneath it. Though nowhere as magnificent as the double-decker root bridge, this is a good place.
It is a great thing to watch if you go to Shillong and want to watch close areas .such a beautiful thing to witness and the view is breathtaking . For some reason we were unable to do the living root bridges...but this one z among the safest with the waterfall beneath it, it makes for an awesome experience. its a major photoshoot destination..the only drwback,,,the huge number of steps to actually reach it...but if we could do it with a 6 month old baby, then uu can imagine how... 更多
Not advisable for old people. If someone has problem with there knee,leg or lungs should not go. Almost 25mins of climbing down and up the stairs is there to reach the bridge. But people who are visiting meghalaya and do not visit this absolutely gonna miss a lot. Must visit.
Mawlynnong is a good small village, very well managed locally too but that was my biggest problem. I felt the village was overly curated for visitors with crowded local restaurants and expensive homestays. I could not stay there because the place was so busy with local tourist. You have to go through the Mowlynnong village and approx. 300+ steps each way to reach there but it is very much worthy to take that much effort. That waterfall and the Living root bridge is something you won't see anywhere else except Double Decker living root bridge. The architecture of the bridge was splendid. In a humid weather once you step out of the car you may think twice about proceeding towards this wonderful sight . Please do visit this place, not recommended for old people as way towards the roots bridge is bit wobbly. You have walk down the stairs which are uneven and a bit slippery as well. Its quiet fascinating to see a bridge naturally made out of live roots of (living) tree... The place has been well maintained and the stream below was also good for a dip... Only issue was trek all the way up and down to the spot... On teh way to bridge you came across lot of small shops selling fresh fruits... 更多
