Camp Leakey has a building with some history and photos of the orangutans that is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend stopping there before visiting the feeding station. The feeding station is an incredible experience. It is amazing to see orangutans up close and personal - watching them move through the trees as they head toward the station. It's hard... 更多
We loved our visit to camp leaky. The Orangutans are so beautiful. It's amazing to see them swinging around in the trees. There are feeding stations that they come down to. You are not allowed to touch them and while at the feeding area you are kept at a distance. You have to get a boat to the camp. Our... 更多
From the 3 feeding stations in the park, we thought this was the nicest. The information Center is good for some extra knowledge about the park, the Research and how humanity destroys nature. Hardest thing we learned was that the EU has the highest demand of palm oil. Bah. Saw a lot of Oerang Oetangs, as well as Tom, the... 更多
Her name is Siswe, and she is the grand dame of the orangutans at Camp Leakey in Tanjung Puting National Park. Our guide, Andreas, has known her for a very long time, and she clearly knows Andreas, too. This was my third trip up the Sekonyer River to see Siswe and her extended family at the preserve created by the... 更多
I cant even begin to imagine how Dr. Galdikas and her ex husband started their journey in Central Kalimantan to dedicate their lives for orangutan conservation. I was very lucky to have Dr. Galdikas as our (me and team) guide. We visited her office, the rehabilitation centre, experienced the love ourselves. the adults orangutan, the teenagers and also the baby... 更多
The orangutans are captivative. All three feeding stations are excellent. But at Camp Leakey you are most likely to see these creatures up close, just be careful, they are indeed wild animals. The boat travel throughout the national park are a textbook of wildlife. Travel there is also cool, with a please tell breeze. I stayed at Rimba lodge, the... 更多
I booked a 3 day boat trip to Camp Leaky last September. Unfortunately due to the devastating fires in the area I was unable to take the tour. I had booked this trip through Fitness Adventures who are based in Sydney. I found Zoe From Fitness Adventures to be extremely helpful from start to finish. She also assisted with my... 更多
This is a research facility inside the Tanjung Putting national park where the very first orangutan sanctuary was set up many years ago. It is invaluable to see the conservation efforts, through history, and fight against corporate greed that is destroying this beautiful area.
Camp Leakey may be the biggest camp for orang utan population among other camps in Tanjung Puting National Park. At this camp, you'll get bigger opportunity to meet and see orang utans at their feeding station. Information center at this camp was also much more informative.
Great trip with orangutanhouseboat.com. Fardi really understands how to service his customers. Best food in 4 weeks of indonesia. Camp Leakey could be more restrictive tool the behavior of visitors to ensure good balance between tourism and preservation. Great experience!!
