The people of this place are really very down to earth and the monestarty is amazing. Also the view from the village is amazing. It has lots of patches that are called as moonland and it looks like as if you are standing on moonland. We visited this place in winter and witnessed a frozen waterfall just at the outskirt... 更多
Lamayuru is located about 120 kms from Leh and most of the stretch is over the beautiful Leh Kargil highway. Nothing much to do in Lamayuru itself apart from visiting a monastery and seeing an attraction called moonland which comes 2-3 kms before Lamayuru. I must say that if you have not been to lamayuru than you have not been to Leh. But if you are lucky enough to visit than please please go to temple above the moutain. Amazing blissfull experience. It was exhausting route but after climbing that 3 KMs you would never regret the place.
LAMAYURU is the MOST ATTRACTIVE AND BEAUTIFUL place on the way to LEH from Kargil. GOMPA( Buddhist temple and gigantic mountains on the way are NOT to be missed.MOONLAND is a spot where we can take photographs.

This place is a 120 kms drive from Leh on the Leh-Kargil road. The place is supposed to have rocks and terrain like that on a moon. Thats not very much so, but it is worth a visit if you have a spare day in hand while around Leh.
