Worth a quick stop -- great views of the nearby coastline, and fascinating history. No more than 15-20 minute stop, but worthwhile if you're nearby. Note: there's a food truck here as well, so good place for a quick stop for a snack or drink (Del's!)
This is a very pretty lighthouse located in an extremely picturesque place, but there isn't much to see or do at the lighthouse. It is a good place to relax and picnic on the grass.
There are two lighthouses on the island and this is one of the must see places on the island. It has been very well restored. There is not much to it but it is an important part of our 19th century history. It is a brief stop but worth the effort.
A quick walk from Mohegan Bluffs, the Southeast Lighthouse was a pleasure. Our tour guide was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable! The view from the very top is stunning.
If you're biking the southern loop of BI this is a nice little stop off point where you take a quick look and the views are beautiful. It's practically next door to the entrance of Mohegan Bluffs so really easy by bike / moped etc.
The Southeast Lighthouse is an architectural gem! It's a beautiful brick structure set high on the bluffs. You can take a tour of the lighthouse on weekends ($10), or you can just enjoy the spectacular views of the ocean and bluffs. It's one of the prettiest places on the island for photos.
Panoramic views of the bluffs not to mention this beauty of a lighthouse. Consider that the entire structure was moved over a decade ago...impressive. Views of the Atlantic are tremendous.....you decide about the windmills!
