The building is a partially restored ruin, but the in-depth audio tour brings the decay to life in fascinating detail. The lady working in the gift shop was friendly and welcoming, many thanks to her and EH!
This is a must to visit in the summer. You must join the English Heritage and get in for free, and other places like this. This has so much history and is set in lovely countryside. Lovely day out..take a picnic..relaxing.
A worthwhile trip to this attractive building set in lovely grounds. Some of the rooms have been refurbished and it makes for an interesting inside tour.
Old Manor House,with well kept gardens, very picturesque and lovely views, good couple of hours or longer if you take a picnic, places to sit and eat.. Shop with souvenirs and produce, well worth a visit
Owned by English Heritage but don't let that put you off, it's lovely. Interior rooms offer examples of times gone by, not over the top, but sympathetically done displays. Kirby Hall is operated by English Heritage and is tucked away in a quiet corner but well worth looking for. Staff knowledgeable and friendly, and the resident peacocks wandering the grounds are adorable. Plenty of history in a lovely setting, some nice "different" treats in the shop too
