We stopped for a coffee and found the cafe interesting and attractive, the staff were welcoming and helpful. The bird feeding area was particularly attractive. Unfortunately we were inundated by dogs with owners who seemed to think everyone should like the animals. We like dogs but not wet, dirty and smelly ones, it completely spoilt the visit. I realise it... 更多
We were brought here for lunch by a friend. The approach through the estate is beautiful and peaceful. Ideal to stop off for a peaceful and friendly meal/snack break. Or indeed to stay for longer and wander around the grounds and by the river. We met the field mice who are being nurtured and saw where the next planting of... 更多
I drove through this area, and I couldn't help but slow down to take it the beauty around me, luckily the roads were quiet as I ambled along admiring the surrounding. The Norfolk countryside is breathtaking in parts. I saw a deer cross the road, kestrel and buzzards in the air and wild fowl in the fields. Fresh air, peace... 更多
We discovered this place by accident, and are so glad we did. A peaceful, natural setting, dog welcome if on lead. We had delicious soup for lunch (price similar to a pub), but the sandwiches looked good value in price. Interesting plant centre to browse around. We did not explore the grounds, but hope to return sometime soon.
Lovely stop-off for a coffee and snack or light lunch with the added bonus of natural plant nursery, nature reserve walks and don't miss the harvest mice - tiny, beautiful creatures. The owners are lovely in this quirky little place hidden away on the Bayfields Estate - give it a try.
Enjoyed a full morning on a very hot day - the gardens provided somewhere cooler than the surrounding Norfolk countryside. Staff were friendly & helpful, the café snack lunch excellent, the grounds and creatures fascinating - especially the harvest mice. A very noisy school party doing a project in the river somewhat destroyed the ambience and value of a visit... 更多
We visited twice during our stay in Cley last week, the sun shone and the birds and butterflies were everywhere. There's a boardwalk through the grounds down to the glaven river which is full of interest. There are dragonflies around the pond and plenty of places to sit and gaze. Top all this with a very welcome cup of tea... 更多
Set in the beautiful Glaven valley, this is a wonderful place for children to explore and understand interesting facts about wildlife, flora and fauna, with hands on experience.
We came back for a return visit, again.Lovely to see that the large wildlife pond that was being constructed last year,is now teeming with dragon flies of all colours.Beautiful. The walkway between the water meadow part is now done and the stream part dredged(lots of frogs). A time for quiet reflection in the hide, but didn't see the Kingfishers that we saw... 更多
Delightful, peaceful place which has been beautifully set out. Full of lots of wild and natural planting. Great little nursery. Nice little cafe with in/outdoor seating. Dogs allowed on a lead. Small admission charge but well worth it. Gem of a place. The only thing we didn't like was a red squirrel going stir crazy in its cage, definately wasn't... 更多
