We ate dinner at this restaurant at the end of a canal boat holiday and while the venue was attractive and views of the canal beautiful the food was very poor.
Took my daughter to show her the locks. Last visit was when she was a babe in arms and struggled with the push chair. This visit was much better (no stroller was used or harmed!) Fascinating to watch the barges travel through the locks. It's really steep for both barges and those going out on a stroll. Really relaxing and... 更多
Highly recommend this attraction for those wishing to combine history with a relaxing walk. Well laid out paths and walkways easy parking (small charge) and well signposted. A great attraction on a sunny day with plenty of opportunities to stop relax and take in the view. A real piece of working history that is fascinating to watch. Plenty of opportunities... 更多
This is a lovely place for a relaxed place to go for a long walk along the waterside watching the boats lazily wend their way from one lock to another. peaceful.
The lock gates were being renovated on our last visit and we were invited into the base of the lock to see how it worked. Great for the men but not so sure for the others. On other visits watching the barges progress up and down the locks can be fascinating. The location provides bars, eating houses and a souvenir... 更多
We are frequent visitors to Foxton Locks, it is a lovely place to walk and has a warm and friendly atmosphere. The narrow boats passing by, most usually with a cheery wave or a hello called across the water. The final icing is the ice cream, a coffee or a beer, even a bacon buttie at bridge 61. All of... 更多
My third visit. Lovely relaxing walk with amazing views. A nice bit of history. Takes about an hour to stroll around. Museum staff are friendly. Toilets are free but not that nice. Advice: Park in the long stay car park. It is cheaper than the short stay car park.
This is the the longest set of locks, and is kept to a very high standard, there are always lock keepers on hand who are more than willing to chat, great place to visit but beware of the hill!!
After a lovely stroll along the canal from riverside I stopped and watched the barges going up and down the 3 levels amazing day watching how the locks work. There's a pub and a cafe didn't go in but watched some great dishes being served to the tables while I enjoyed a ice cream on a hot day
