What a beautiful forest completely unexpected, a real jewel of the Beara way. Stop by and make a picnic for lunch etc
Just outside Glengariff on the road to Kenmare. Several walks are well laid out and you can pick up on some routes around the Beara Way here. We went up to Lady Bantry's Lookout - a bit of an uphill walk but not too long and well worth it for lovely views of Bantry Bay from the top.
Highly recommended for walking here we had a wonderful afternoon just Walking around. There are loops for all different levels of difficulty very accurate estimates on distance and walk times a well kept and lovely place would return and would recommend.
Such a great spot, I took a stroll here with the dog during the week. So calm and full of nature. The trails are clean and clear and the sign posts are plentiful without over doing it. The water in the stream is so clear and my dog had a great time splashing about as its so accessible. Always have... 更多
We visited on a very nice and sunny day. The hikes were beautiful. There are waterfalls, rivers, and gorgeous views over the hills and bays. I strongly recommend. Some of the hikes are a bit challenging but there are stone steps and some railings too, so that makes it easier.
Really lovely setting with several trails to choose from. Well signposted. We saw a deer here yesterday - made my day.. Close to the town so you can walk here but there are several parking lots dotted around the place where trails begin and end.
We saw the sign for the walk in the village and its setting didn't disappoint - especially the fairly testing (for older people) walk up to Lady Bantry's Lookout which gave stunning views - but it wasn't easy to follow the signage if you weren't familiar with the area.
