We didn't quite make sense of this site. Where the "historic" structures in the garden real or artificial? We were allowed to walk through the fields to see the Connemara ponies or not? And as we didn't have time to wait around for the start of the video about Dan O'Mara we didn't quite know what we were looking at... 更多
They take you with a tractor to watch the scenery . to see the old house of Dan O'hare, to see how they cut the turf, and above all they tell you about the history of the family, the farm and Clifden in a very entertaning way.
A love place steeped in history. We walked around the visitors center before going on a short walk following the yellow trail. It took us 30 minuets to do the loop. There is a lot of steep slopes up and down but the kids really enjoyed it. There is also a play area for kids which they loved. The coffee... 更多
Everything above this centre was good. Lovely cafe, clean toilets, excellent information centre. Great to see the Connemara ponies and to talk to the breeder. Great walk up Diamond Hill.
If we want to return means it's a beautiful place.....Cuando uno se quedo con el deseo de ver mas, implica que hay que regresar....
This wasn't on our itinerary but sure glad we stopped. It was lunch and we needed a place to sit in the fresh air for a while. The people in the center were very nice and helpful. Intriging displays made for a good visit. Only took a sbort time which was just what we wanted.
The whole museum (inside, outside and the Dan O'Hara Farmhouse) is interesting, and provide a lot of informations about Ireland and Connemara. Martin is an excellent guide, and the shop is nice.
Found this centre on our first wet day in Ireland .Its a very smart multipurpose building which includes interesting and informative displays and a very good video of the area around Connemara and the personal story of local tenant farmer Dan O'Hara. The accompanying sound track is beautiful. We were especially pleased by the lovely warm and fridly greeting of... 更多
We found Martin (the main staff person, and driver of the tractor taking people up to the cottage) to be very informative, knowledgable and entertaining. His description of the conditions leading to mass emigration, and Ireland's political struggles was interesting. He sang a few Irish ballads to illustrate parts of the history, which the crowd enjoyed. I think it was... 更多
