St. Muredach's Cathedral is the Cathedral Church of the Diocese of Killala is located in Ballina on the banks of the River Moy. It was built in the Victorian Gothic style and building work began in 1827. It's currently undergoing some refurbishment so was part covered in plastic and scaffolding but you can still appreciate the grandeur of the building. We lit some candles and were approached by an elderly gentleman who told us to watch out for muggers to be fair we felt very safe in Ballina.
