This is not too far from our home and when in Carrickfergus we like to go for a walk along the shoreline that the castle is located close to. Carrickfergus Castle is a Norman castle situated in the on the northern shore of Belfast Lough. Besieged in turn by the Scots, Irish, English and French, the castle played an important... 更多
Visit with family. Must see attraction. Well preserve and real value for money with full of history. Dedicated guided tours available during the day, included in the admission price. Good place to see and to learn the history and to see how it looks like centuries ago.
Carrickfergus castle was the highlight of our trip to NI 4 years ago when our boys then 5 and 7 years talked about it until we went back again this year. It didn't disappoint, Now older they enjoyed it even more and the recent additions (new education centre) to the intrepretation of the story made it even better. It is... 更多
The children's room is the most fun. You get to play dress up, work puzzles, and play really fun games. The castle itself is impressive and situated in a gorgeous location.
For a place that was not on our list, but we happened to stumble upon, we were very impressed. We enjoyed the tour and learning about this particular castle and general area history. The views were also great. I would definitely recommend it.
We took a taxi from our hotel to visit this historic site. Initially I was underwhelmed due to how small the castle appeared upon arrival. We actually spent a good half hour to an hour touring and learning the history. The views from the top of the keep were fantastic.

Well maintained and easy access to most parts - many stairs as one would expect but that should not deter most people finding access to the majority of the castle. Would certainly recommend... 更多

Especially enjoyed climbing the Keep with the different levels and its massive banquet hall. The thickness of the walls was amazing and windows offered some great views of the... 更多
