Although it was closed our visit was worthwhile as we walked around and saw how it has stood the test of time. There is a museum nearby across the main road and it was interesting to see some of the walls remaining of the old walled town. The churches in Carrickfergus are also impressive. So we will go back again.

Cool castle, well worth a visit. It has a long and interesting history which the in house animation explains well. Fun to explore the levels and the narrow winding staircase. It's a fantastic view from the outside too. Fair price, easily spend an hour maybe two exploring.

Havent been here in years, was very enjoyable and staff were friendly. Found out a lot of stuff on how life would have been at the castle. This would not be for anyone with walking issues due to the many steps. Definitely worth a visit. Go to the central bar for a drink after!
