This was a nicely restored castle, and had a lot of info. on its history. We took the short guided tour, and that was also full of info. Highly recommended!
If you've never been before it's definitely worthy of a visit when you're in Carrick. The castle is well kept and has been lightly restored to preserve the stonework on the outside and there are activities for both adults and children inside. The Castle was great, but I think we enjoyed just walking around the area taking snapshots. The local people are friendly. We didn't meet one person that wasn't nice.

Stopping here was on my list of 'must-do's' on my tour of Northern Ireland and it didn't disappoint. If you are interested in the history of places you visit, then take a few hours here.

The tour is self-guided and very interesting. Carrickfergus has had an... 更多
