I'm pleased to see the N Ireland Tourist Board finally able to celebrate its historical sites. This coronation spot for the historic kings is well restored with a snaking pathway to the top of the 'fort' --- merely a clearing --- with regular information boards marking both the historical chronology and archaeological detail. An atmospheric place --- we combined it... 更多
Well worth a visit.2 paths lead to the site. Shorter uphill path(quite steep but manageable if you go slowly) and winding longer gentle path. Lots of very informative notices. Great views in all directions.. The crowning place itself is surrounded by mature trees. Worth sitting on the ridge and imaging the scene when the O'Neill was crowned. Plenty of free... 更多
Cookstown was a wonderful place to base ourselves to enjoy the 400 year reunion of the Clan's focusing on The Great Hugh O'Neill

Good walking shoes are essential when visiting this site. It reality, this fort is a mound within a corpse at the top of a hill. The views from the Fort are spectacular and... 更多
