We have walked up to the chateau lots of times and this time decided to venture inside to see the Sickert exhibition which was very good and well worth viewing to see his paintings and sketches of familiar landmarks in Dieppe. The exhibition was well presented, it is a temporary one but the chateau also holds other paintings including some... 更多
A superb castle with wonderful views from high up on Dieppe waterfront but a fairly interesting museum let down by lack of guidance and too many climbs. Would like to have seen more of the castle itself but at least i saw some unlike a member of our party with a bad leg who had to just sit it out... 更多
The castle strikes an imposing figure over the town of Dieppe, and begs a visit. We duly obliged, and walked up there from our hotel on the front (10-15 minute walk). The castle itself is indeed extremely impressive and offers great views over the town and sea front. Being interested to learn more, we visited the museum. The museum contains... 更多
This was a shorter than planned visit. The mediaeval castle dominates the sea from the cliff top. The museum concentrates on the sea and its influence on the town below. The collection of Ivory Sculptures was excellent. (16th to 19th Centuries)
Good attraction, located opposite Mercure Hotel in Dieppe. Admission is 4.50 euros for access to art exhibitions. Great views of the city from the top of Castle, memorial to WW2, 9th August, 1942 Operation Jubilee in the gardens below. Car Parking just opposite, close to beach and a great way to waste a couple of hours before catching ferry back... 更多
Lovely views of Dieppe- could stay there for awhile and admire the scenery. Closed for lunch. More of a modernized art gallery and nothing of a castle which we expected to see. We were the 1st South Africans to visit according to their records, and they were surprised we were white!
During our day tour of Dieppe last month, we had a quick stop to tour a portion of the Chateau. The area we explored was free of charge but still a worthwhile stroll to view the grounds and admire the vista over the château walls of the town. A beautiful preservation.
Polite entrance staff. A warder asked me a question in French which i didn't understand but he didn't try to help me understand either and was not bothered about speaking to me after that. Lots of models of ships and paintings of ships and a very maritime museum. Not really a museum about the castle if that is what you... 更多
