Wow. I love prehistoric sites but sometimes am disappointed by the setting. Not here. It's a little isolated although in summer beach-bums hang around nearby. This is on the way to the lakeside walk, and well worth the detour. To touch stones carved thousands of years ago really gives a sense of awe and of the flow of time. And it is set within a nature park, that leads to the bird sanctuary and the lakeside.
It was nice to walk among such old historical monuments, which I didn't even expect to find in Yverdon. The place is pretty, well taken care of and has stands with information about the statues (in English too).
